Tara Rogers too smooth for the field on Day 1 at Syd3de

Today was the first day of competition at the Sydney 3DE which saw 7 combinations across the three 4* classes producing sub 30 dressage scores!

The Kohnke’s Own CCI4*-L class is being led by Tara Rogers and Denison Park Smooth, followed by Andrew Cooper and Omega star, with Hayley Frielick and Dunedin Black Watch currently sitting in third.

Sam Lyle and ‘BF Valour’ finished day one on top of the leaderboard with a score of 25.90 in the Bates Saddles CCI4*-S, followed b Jess Rae and ‘Rascal’ in second place on a score of 27.70, with Shane Rose and ‘Stakkino’ in third.

In the Ariat CCN4*-S the riders had the opportunity to complete the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Eventing dressage test which saw Stuart Tinney riding Elisabeth Brinton’s ‘Celebration’ dance their way into the lead with a score of 26.80. Making the trip from New Zealand worthwhile Madison Crowe sits in second place with Waitangi Pinterst on 27 penalties. Stuart is also sitting in third position with his second ride ‘Leporis’ on a score of 28.00 making it two sub 30 scores for Team Tinney!

Niki Rose was best of the Ceva CCI3*-L combinations scoring 28.7 on her lovely thoroughbred Dreamcatcher to stay ahead of Katie Taliana and Revelwood Wynston Street on 29.3 and Andrew Cooper on Hey Arnold on 30.3.

The competition continues tomorrow with the cross-country phase.
