About Sydney Eventing

Sydney International 3 Day Event is Australia’s oldest Three Day Event. It first ran in 1957 in Centennial Park Sydney. Read more about the history here.

Sydney 3DE is run by a dedicated group of volunteers supported by Equestrian NSW and Eventing NSW. The event is held at the world class equestrian facility and former Olympic venue, Sydney International Equestrian Centre at Horsley Park in Western Sydney.

The Sydney International 3DE is a prestigous event attracting Australia’s best eventing horses and riders.

In 2019 we once again have Mike Etherington Smith as our cross country course designer for the 2, 3 and 4 star tracks whilst Sandy Lucas will design the national tracks 1 star, 95cm, 80cm and 60cm.

Mike E S also designed the cross country courses for the Sydney and Beijing Olympic Games.

Our Patron is former National Coach Wayne Roycroft (pictured), who has not only coached Australia to three Team Gold Medals (Barcelona, Atlanta and Sydney) but also played a significant role in the creation of the venue for Sydney Olympic Games.

We would like to thank Wayne for his ongoing support of this world class venue and event.
